Viripajev is a new star of contemporary
Russian drama and is a representative of one of its brave innovative
trend, which differently from the modern Russian novel, is not
sufficiently known nor promoted at our stages, despite the translation
effort of N. Antić. Judging by his artistic spirit, Ivan Viripajev
is close to Viktor Peljevin, writer of the famous novel "Generation
P"(Generation Pepsi), Russian replica of D. Copland’s
Generation X.
Spiritual, thematic area in which characters of drama move,
She and He, has been drawn as a symbolic map of characters from
the post-Soviet, post-modern, post-Russia, grotesquely sketched
as in Peljevin’s novel. Generation of primary accumulation
of capital, of transitioning "Wild East", of billboard
and media civilization, of being lost, of spleen, has thanks
to humor, "black, that it can not be more black", become
in the fantasy of everyday life in Viripajev’s way "fantastically
