The Project is a co-production of Festivals that by their own
program affirm theatre activities – BELEF Center, KulturMobil
and BITEF Theatre (Belgrade) FIAT (Podgorica) and MESS (Sarajevo).
Executive Production: KulturMobil, BITEF-teatar,
Dom omladine Beograd i BELEF 05.
The Project "If this would be a show..." is a theatre
performance the title of which opens a series of associations,
so that it can be literally and on stage treated as supra-title
prologue, parole, cue, epilogue, refrain, sub-text, Brecht’s
V-effect, etc. This lunatic title initiates play between the scenic
illusion and public, which should not by any means be play with
spectators, but always a new game, in search for total theatre.
Time distance of exactly 10 years after ending the civil war
in the territory of Former SFRY has enabled appearance of so-called „a(nti)-war“ play.
The topic of the play is „expelling“ guilt. Concrete
war event forms a reason for play, which develops in the form
of Rashomon through farcical review of trial resulting in absurd.
Regardless of explicit social context and engagement, the author
remains in the field of intimate (auto)comedy.
