A
land, "strong and sane foundations", Terra Cognita, the
one you came from, walked by, contemplated, mapped, exhumed, indelibly
printed on film. Such is the soil, the inspiring land of a reasoning
shared by four engravers of the image, searching for an improbable
pathway to the past. Looking backwards, the individual merges with
the community, the history of places. Inspired by the will to re-take
possession of the family rituals, of change in the moving landscape,
appears the urge to re-transcribe, to reconstitute "here and
now hic and nunc" engraved on the film. Come closer to what
inevitably disappears or what has already come to pass.
