Reconstructed IdentityThe core idea of the project is manufacturing of oversized Coca-Cola bottle filled with substance visually resembling milk. The idea for this sculpture was born after the daily encounter on the streets of Sofia with the second hand employment of Coca-Cola bottles for selling homemade milk. This symbiosis between the globally recognized brand of Coca-Cola and the homemade milk is a casual and may be banal view but it intrigued me with the simple and natural manner it becomes a visual symbol of the globalization.

How we are affected by the brands around us and how we use them to create our own identities?

How the GLOBAL becomes LOCAL keeping its recognizable image and vice versa?
Is this merger diluting the borders of their identities or emphasizes the differences between them?

How the MULTICULTURE turns/ fades into NATIONAL CULTURE?

The work examines the identity formation under the influence of globalization, migration, media and trade routes. It is a monument of a faked and reconstructed, decontextualised identity of a famous trademark. The employment, the imitation and the borrowing of famous brands and their image is a form of cultural participation resulting in a unique "life" forms loaded with psychological and sociological information, and though it might sound pervert to the brand owners - emotions, dreams, imagination and creativity.
