 Following
the idea of decentralization of culture and art, insisting on linking
foreign and domestic students of Art Faculties every year in a
new environment, already traditional International Summer Art School
of the Art University for 2005 shall be organized in the ethnical
milieu of Mecavnik town in Mokra Gora, the visionary and founder
of which is the world famous Movie Director Emir Kusturica.
Topic of this year’s school is "TRANSITION – NO,
IT IS ‘N ART", research and (re)defining possible
answers to the questions: What is the position of art in the
time of transition? Is there a place for art in the complex transitional
processes? What art values can be derived from the transition
in the arts?
1. Film Workshop
Topic of the Workshop: Authenticity of a scene from the film
The author of the concept and coordinator: Emir Kusturica, internationally
recognized Film Director, awarded with numerous film awards.
Critics award at Sao Paolo Festival, Golden Lion of the Venetian
Mostra (Secas li se Doli Bel, 1981), Golden Palm of the Cannes
Festival (Otac na sluzbenom putu, 1985), Director’s Award
of the Cannes Festival (Dom za vesanje, 1989), Silver Bear of
the Berlin Festival (Arizona Dream,1993), Golden Palm of the
Cannes Festival (Underground, 1995)...
Assistant: Stefan Arsenijevic, Assistant Professor of the Faculty
of Drama, Film Director and the winner of several advantageous
international awards (Golden Bear of Berlin Festival 2003 for
short movie Atorzija).
2. Music Workshop
Topic: Transformation of film and film scene situations by music
Author of the concept and coordinator: Milos Petrovic, Professor
of the Faculty of Musical Art, Piano player and Composer with
active pedagogical and artistic experience, engages in music
inspired by a traditional music of the Mediterranean and the
Balkans.
3. Workshop for Fine Arts
Workshop topic: Transition of reality, reality of transition
Author of the concept and Coordinator: Dragan Jovanovic, Professor
of the Faculty of Fine Arts, visual artist insisting on innovation
of academic programs, especially on introduction of new technologies.
4. Scenography Workshop
Workshop topic: Transition – Transformation –Transposition,
exterior as a place of film action from reality to fantasy
Author of the concept and Coordinator: Jasna Dragovic, Professor
of the Faculty of Applied Arts, renowned scenographer with rich
international experience on film and TV.
