Transformation of an Unknown City

This project is an attempt to move the city public life from the confined and introverted places, which have through certain events imposed themselves monopolistically, in the city's open areas. In this space, the event and the facility are possible and available to all, and from the moment the author brings the object into the space or during the performance, everyone becomes the authort or a participant in the tayloring of its fate. On the other hand, the project attempts to put back into operation the areas intended for a specific purpose, which have not been exploited, but also to mobilize the places that have never been used as exposition areas and turn them into possible exposition sites, like (gallery store rooms, neglected cultural monuments in the city, etc.). The project also tries to transform such spaces into facilities with a certain purpose, to organize exhibitions in keeping with the space characteristics, and to find a space suitable for work so that it could be marked as a host of regular life, but also of artistic or any other event. Throught this project, 30 authors mobilized 10 open areas, and four exterior and six interior settings. .

A pilot project launched in Zrenjanin marked the beginning of the process of transformation of several small towns in Serbia. However, the question has arisen after the completion of the project as to whether there is any sense in moving to another town considering that the information collected imply that the effects would be the same as those in Zrenjanin.
